My tour ended, kind of!
My tour is technically done. I had a lovely launch celebration at Moona Moono, a local Asian cafe. But I’m still traveling around, somehow.
I just got back from Yallfest, a young adult book festival in Charleston, which was a very nice time. I got to meet a lot of wonderful readers as well as some fantastic authors. The volunteers running the event were simply amazing.
I’m currently about to board a flight to Colorado for NCTE, the National Council of Teachers of English. I’ll have a presentation to give and a gauntlet of panels to do over the course of the weekend. I’ll be there for four days, and I bet I’ll come away with a lot of notes to share with you about where teachers of English in the US position comics in the classroom as well as the state of literary education in general. Seems cool!
I’m trying my very best to carve out some room to do personal work, and that has been in the form of fanart of my favorite children’s books.
Instead of screenshotting, I’ve been taking clumsy photos and cropping them because I sort of enjoy the natural patina of a clumsy phone camera.

I hope I get a little down time to keep doodling in Colorado. I’m always working on releasing my sense of preciousness over opening up a blank page. I have so many pages to fill. There’s no shortage. I should be drawing with abandon. And I plan to!
