What's in a name, anyway?
I honestly can't believe I've gone seventy pages into this webcomic without even once considering that it should have a name. And then, with CAKE, Autoptic, and A2CAF coming up, I decided I wanted to make a print edition of the comic, which meant I needed a title.
I've been calling it "Fairy Story Project" in all of my file names, and now I need to change everything over. The other tricky part about the cover image is that I honestly could not tell you what I thought any of the characters' colorways were going to be.
But I actually really like this!
There's one more page that needs to be drawn before I can wrap up what I'm more or less calling Volume 1 of this webcomic, but I'm delighted that this is a thing I can do to remind that I do actually enjoy drawing.
In other news, I bought a few cheap fountain pens to play around with, and I'm delighted to report that I enjoy them. There are some downsides, however.
One of them did manage to explode (read: leak profusely for a moment), so I've gone and gotten myself some aprons to curtail that aspect of the experience.
They're actually pretty expressive!
In other news, after months of bugging my spouse, we are about to break ground on a newer, bigger chicken coop, which also means I will be adopting two new little hens this week. We should have them by Friday, and I'm incredibly excited. I wonder how Snooki will react.
Here she is, in all her majesty, hiding in the patridge pea bushes.
As part of my duties for A2CAF, I'm drawing their poster, and I'm already finding the experience personally very dicey. I'm doing a concept sketch digitally and then drawing the whole thing with fountain pens. I'm apprehensive! But I'm sort of using the thing as a tribute to Rose O'Neill for the 80th anniversary of her passing this year.
More soon!
